Yarmouth Sailing

New Yarmouth Sailing Director:
Meet Lindsey Boland

Lindsey grew up spending her summers on Lewis Bay.  Her family has had a summer home here for four generations. She started sailing with her siblings and cousins back in the 1990s and has worked as an instructor since 2007. She is a graduate of Westfield State University and holds a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Cambridge College.  We are thrilled to introduce her as the new Director of the Yarmouth Recreation Sailing Program and invite you to stop by and say hello.

Sailing in Lewis Bay with Yarmouth Recreation Sailing has been a mainstay for thousands of local families for three generations.  Our new facility welcomes residents and visitors alike.  Our experienced staff is led by Lindsey Boland,   Kaitlyn Oberlander and Captain Ellie Lawrence.  Our historic fleet of Cape Cod Knockabouts are sturdy 8’ beam hulls that teach children in a team atmosphere with their peers.  We start at age 7 with the hopes of making life long sailors of our students and their families.  It is never too late to start sailing.

Our Laser and 420 fleet can match any local yacht club.  We compete weekly in local regattas and host our own in each class during the summer.  We are strong and ready to welcome former and new students into one of the premiere sailing programs in the mid-cape area.  Come join Lindsey and her team out on the water and make Yarmouth Recreation Sailing a part of your 2016 Summer!

Racing Program
Learning to hike-out!
The Yarmouth Recreation Sailing Center runs a full instructional RACING program with two progressive levels:
Level I: a program for sailors that have
sailing experience but now want
to develop their racing skills
Level II: a program offered only to those
sailors who have successfully
completed the Level I racing
program or have had Regatta
Racing experience.

Separate registration is required because lessons for the racing program are taught separately from the instructional program. “Chalk Talks” will be run on land in inclement weather when sailing is not recommended. Lasers, Vanguard 420’s, and Cape Cod Knock-abouts will be utilized. The course will cover setting spinnakers, trapeezing, and match and team racing against other programs on Cape Cod.
