This is Bruce Murphy Dir of Health, with a Coronavirus update.
Today, the Governor announced that effective tomorrow, Thursday February 18, more individuals will be eligible for vaccinations; these are individuals age 65 or older; individuals with two or more specific medical conditions, along with residents and staff of public and private low income and affordable SENIOR HOUSING.
Also, effective March 1st. the state will no longer provide first dose vaccines for individual town clinics, except for the twenty off Cape disproportionately impacted communities.
During the next three weeks the Barnstable County Regional clinics are only for people to receive their second doses.

The Dept. will continue planning with the Senior Center and Nursing groups for homebound residents, when state vaccine become available.
The Health Dept. will continue to request the Dept. of Public Health and the GOVERNOR for more than the 975 weekly doses provided for the County Regional clinics, and hopefully town supplemental clinics in the future.
The Health Dept. will continue working with the County Health Dept. and Cape Health Directors on vaccinations for Cape Residents.
