Can I pay less than the real estate tax due?
Yes, partial payments are accepted but each payment must be at least 10% of the original tax and interest will accrue @14% per annum on the balance. Partial payments are only accepted until the time of Tax Title Process begins.

When are Real Estate tax bills due?
The Town of Yarmouth isues Real Estate and Personal Property bills annually. The first half is due approximately on November 1st and the 2nd half is due May 1st.

Can I pay less than the real estate tax due?

Can I pay my tax bill by credit card?
On line EBILL (www.MCC.net) is available with MC, Visa and Debit cards for Real Estate, Personal Property and Excise taxes 30 days prior to due date and for full payments only. The only credit card accepted by the Collector's office in the Town Hall is Discover Card.

Why is the former owner's name on my real estate tax bill?
The State mandates tax bills to be assessed to the owner of record as of January 1st prior to the new fiscal year of July 1st. It is very important to sumit any ownership changes and mail address updates to the Assessor's Office in writing at the time of closing. It may take many months before the Town is notified from the Registry of Deeds of transfers. Taxes are adjusted at the closing between the buyer and seller.

Why doesn't my exemption show on my real estate bill?
Exemptions are granted by the Board of Assessor's based on State guidelines for qualified elderly, veterans and blind, therefore, applications must be filed each tax year. Please check with the Assessor's Office for more information.

Can you correct my mailing address on my car excise bill?
The Town of Yarmouth cannot change these addresses. You need to notify the Registry of Motor Vehicles and your insurance company of any address change immediately. If you do not receive an excise bill, please contact this office @508-398-2231 Ext. 233.

Why is my tax payment sent to a Worcester P.O. Box?
We now have a Bank Lock Box Center in Worcester, therefore, tax bill payments will be sent to the Reading Post Office Box.
