The Yarmouth Police Department proudly employs a dedicated group of professional men and women who work daily in a concerted effort to deliver the best possible policing services to our:
  • Residents
  • Business community
  • Visitors

Our Department motto is quite clear: “Committed to our Community”. This motto, along with our mission statement, clearly articulates our desire to work with our community.

Throughout our workday we rely on our volunteers, our citizen academy graduates, and our residents to partner with us to enhance the quality of life within and around the community.

No Solicitation By-law information

The Yarmouth Police Department wants to remind everyone of a simple procedure in which Town of Yarmouth residents can register to become part of a no-solicitation list to prevent door-to-door sales.

The new bylaw does not affect religious or political organizations.

TOWN OF YARMOUTH NO KNOCK BY LAW HIGHLIGHTS
Salespeople must obtain a door-to-door sales permit
No salespeople are allowed to enter property that is listed on a no-solicitation list maintained by police
Vehicles used by door-to-door salespeople must be labeled one ach side with letters at least 4 inches high stating “door-to-door sales”
No door-to-door sales can take place after 7PM or before 9AM
Violation of the law is punishable by a $300 fine in addition to any criminal penalties for trespassing
