YARMOUTH AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The Town of Yarmouth recognizes the need for affordable housing and works to create and preserve affordable housing opportunities for the local residents.

Housing is said to be affordable if you spend no more than 30% of your income on housing costs, including rent and utilities, mortgage, taxes and condominium fees. An affordable unit can be a home, a duplex, a condominium or an apartment. Subsidized housing involves financial support to reduce these housing costs to an affordable level. To received a subsidy, a household must be income eligible. These amounts vary depending on the housing program or agency providing the subsidy.
