What does one of these inspections entail?

A Town of Yarmouth data collector will visit your home between the hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday through Saturday.  They will identify themselves as Assessing office employees and will be wearing town-approved photo IDs to certify this.  Our data collectors drive town-issued automobiles and the Yarmouth Police Department is aware of their presence in your neighborhood.

The data collector will be carrying a copy of the most recent field card for your home. The entire purpose of the visit is to make certain that all of the data for the interior and exterior of your home that is listed on that field card is as accurate as possible.  This requires a very brief walkthrough of the interior of your home to verify bedroom/bathroom counts, quality of any basement/attic finish and overall quality of construction along with a brief general examination of your property to verify the measurements and overall condition of your home and any free-standing structures on your property.

In total, the entire process should rarely take more than 5-10 minutes.
