In addition to zoning amendments related to Accessory Apartments, the Planning Board is proposing a minor amendment to the Signs zoning bylaw for the November 7, 2023 Special Town Meeting.
This Zoning Article 2 – Signs, would allow for the installation of additional signs on town-owned properties to acknowledge the granting of naming rights, allowing for sponsorships, or accepting of donations to provide for an alternative funding source for the Town. These signs would be regulated via a Board of Selectmen Naming Rights/ Sponsorships/ Donations Sign Policy (to be developed) and would be separate from the zoning bylaw. This has been done in the past for Roadway Banner Signs, Slat/Ladder Signs and Fundraising/Special Events Signs.
