THE YARMOUTH AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM: Town of Yarmouth recognizes the need for affordable housing and works to create and preserve affordable housing opportunities for local residents, while maintaining the Town's character.  In general, housing is said to be affordable if you spend no more than 30% of your income on housing costs, including rent and utilities, mortgage, taxes and condominium fees.

Affordable housing which qualifies for the Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI) must be subsidized, deed restricted, affirmatively marketed, and serve households earning no more than 80% of the Area Median Income.  Affordable Housing comes in may forms: single-family, multi-family, scattered sites, neighborhoods, duplexes, and condominiums.
