Solar Panels on Townhall

Town Hall:

  • Installed programmable thermostats
  • Exit signs converted to LED
  • High efficiency gas boilers installed
  • Additional insulation blown into attic
  • Occupancy sensors installed in some rooms
  • Replace 126 exterior windows with High E glass and reduce air infiltration
  • Lighting replaced with high efficiency light fixtures
  • 10.5 Kw PV Panels on Town Hall roof activated March 18, 2008 $50K MTC
    • 3314 KWH produced as of June 1
  • 2 Kw addition to PV panels

 Yarmouth Police Department:

  • High efficiency lighting installed
  • Added insulation in meeting room
  • Corrected mechanical problems in duct work
  • Adjusted energy management software

 South Yarmouth Library:

  • High efficiency boiler added during renovations
  • Replaced windows with High Efficient windows

 West Yarmouth Library:

  • High efficiency boiler replacement
  • 23 windows replaced High e glass and reduced air infiltration

 Senior Center:

  • Installed programmable energy management system
  • Replaced some windows with High E Glass
  • Planning to replace hot water heater with tankless water heater(s)

 Septage Treatment Plant:

  • Motors replaced with high efficiency motors
  • Compressors modified from 24/7 to storage tank
  • Lighting upgraded to High efficiency lighting
  • Compressor replacement controlled by VFD
  • Entered peak shaving program where STP shift to generator power and of GRID in high energy usage periods    $5,000

Y-B Transfer Station, Disposal area building, Bass River GC, Bayberry GC Clubhouses, Highway Garage, Grounds HQ

  • Installed lighting upgrades
  • High efficiency boilers at Highway and YBTS

Working with Energy Committee, School Dept, MTC/KEMA on wind energy project at DY

Another potential 2 KW PV Install at COC/REC building using MTC funds
