To our Yarmouth Town Libraries' many friends,

July! It’s my most favorite month of the year. Feels a little different this year, with wild and windy weather for the past couple of weeks, and a quiet-ish library building to work in…
We are making progress in our phased reopening plan, having started contactless curbside deliveries of materials to many of you. Further, the statewide interlibrary loan delivery service, coordinated by the Massachusetts Library System, came back into action in mid-June. Our goal continues to be fully restored library services, while prioritizing the health and well-being of library visitors and staff.

Some staff have returned at each library building, working hard to distribute interlibrary loans and satisfy new materials requests. If you requested items from other libraries, you will get a call from us when they arrive to arrange a time for you to pick up materials at either South Yarmouth Library or West Yarmouth Library. All pickups are by appointment only at this time.

The book drops are open at both locations if you wish to return items. Due dates for items currently checked out are extended until mid-July, and fines are not accruing. The South Yarmouth and West Yarmouth Library Associations are unable to accept book donations at this time. We do appreciate your continued support and your patience.

Summer Reading

Story Book Creative Bingo

The Summer Reading Program “Imagine Your Story” began on June 27 with our Story Book Creative Bingo Event on Facebook Live. Your family can play again on Saturday, July 11 and July 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the comfort of your own home! Zoom Storytime

Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.
Songs, rhymes, stories, and surprises for all ages! Please register on the Library calendar of events at www.yarmouthlibraries.org to receive the link by email. Just open the link in your browser or load the Zoom app to your device and we’ll be ready to say hello!

Zoom Book Talk!

Let's gather online and discuss books you have been reading, books you'd like to be reading (or would like the library to purchase), get recommendations from staff and information about new releases. All are welcome. We will have two meetings a month, one in the morning and one in the evening, to accommodate everyone's busy schedules. Finding Peace in Chaotic Times

Life is filled with chaos, some of which we cause ourselves and some of which we have done nothing personally to attract into our lives. The current pandemic is an all-too-real example of the latter.

How we handle chaos affects every aspect of our existence: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. However, with a shift in perspective, chaos can become a gateway to peace, harmony, and happiness. Motivational speaker Constance Hallinan Lagan will help you understand the process of moving safely and securely through life's chaos.
