Mystery Book Group on ZoomThursday, January 14, 6:00 p.m. Join us to discuss Death in Holy Orders by P.D. James. There are copies of the book available at the South Yarmouth Library and West Yarmouth Library circulation desks; the ebook and audiobook are available with no wait on Overdrive/Libby. The group is open to everyone and facilitated by staff member Chris Kaufmann. Please call either library or email ckaufmann@clamsnet.org to receive a Zoom link in order to attend. Jurassic Park Interactive Family MovieJoin the Jurassic Park adventure like never before, while you shout, scream, and snack along! Please register to pick up your copy of the movie Jurassic Park and we will provide the script and a prop bag full of surprises! Due to lots of "dino-mayhem" in the movie, this event is suggested for families with school-aged children and up. Pickups are available at the following times at South Yarmouth or West Yarmouth: · Thursday, January 14, 12:00-6:00 p.m. · Friday, January 15, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. · Saturday, January 16, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. There is a limited supply, so be sure to call to schedule your curbside appointment.

Zoom Good Stories, Well ReadSaturday, January 16, 2:00 p.m. Online A Good Stories, Well Read event, usually held at the West Yarmouth Library, is entertainment and enrichment at its finest. This time around, listen to classic stories read with feeling by local Cape Cod actors by joining the Zoom meeting for virtual Good Stories, Well Read. Virtual Storytime Clubs: For Babies and PreschoolersMs Mindy will entertain and delight you with stories, songs and rhymes, and an at-home activity or craft. Each week there will be two prerecorded storytime videos that will be emailed on Tuesday mornings. Preregister for Baby Storytime or Preschool Storytime, or both! Please register on the Library calendar of events to receive the links. You and your family can enjoy these storytimes at your convenience.

Book Bundles to Go! What better time to get cozy with some wonderful books, movies or audiobooks for all ages? Send us an email or give us a call to let us know what topics you are interested in or who your favorite authors are and we will put together a bundle of 5-10 items for you to take home to enjoy. We will gladly schedule a pickup time at your convenience.

Browse and Go!Miss browsing books at the library? We now have a cart in the South Yarmouth Library vestibule that is full of titles from the past couple of years that you may have missed. You just fill out the provided slip marking the book number, your name, and library card number or phone number, and stick it in the box on the bottom off the cart and you're good to go! More titles to come soon...

Siemen’s Scholarship in the Visual Arts Application Review now Open for 2021The South Yarmouth Library Association has sponsored the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship since 2002. This award provides $5,000 to a visual arts student enrolled in good standing in a visual arts curriculum at an accredited college, university or art institute for at least two (2) semesters or one academic year. Visual arts is understood to include, but is not limited to, painting, graphic arts, sculpture, photography, animation, film and textile art. The award is aimed at advancing the study and knowledge of someone who is likely to make future contributions in the visual arts field. There are no residency requirements. Yarmouth Community VisioningThe Planning Board invites members of the Yarmouth community to participate in our Town-wide Visioning process to identify community values and viewpoints that will serve as the basis for a community Vision Statement. This Vision Statement will help guide future Town goals, initiatives, and resource allocations to better serve our residents.
These virtual meetings will also be livestreamed on the Town of Yarmouth’s YouTube Channel and posted on the Town website on the Community Visioning webpage.
