Book Discussion Group on Zoom The Storied Life of A. J. FikryBy Gabrielle ZevinTuesday, April 26, 2022, 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, 10:30 a.m. Join us for either the evening or morning session this month as we discuss The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, by Gabrielle Zevin. "A. J. Fikry, the cantankerous owner of Island Books, is despondent after losing his beloved wife and witnessing the ever-declining number of sales at his small, quirky bookstore. In short order, he loses all patience with [his] new sales rep, his prized rare edition of Tamerlane is stolen, and someone leaves a baby at his store. That baby immediately steals A. J.'s heart and unleashes a dramatic transformation." [Booklist]
The Wednesday morning book group will meet in the gazebo outside the South Yarmouth Library and over Zoom, weather permitting.
Copies of the book are available at both libraries. You can also read or listen to the book online on Overdrive/Libby through CLAMS or another consortium in Massachusetts with your CLAMS card. Please email ckaufmann@clamsnet.org or call the library at 508-760-4820 to register to receive a Zoom link or with any questions.
If you need Zoom help, please call 508-760-4820 to set up a troubleshooting session or if you need any other assistance.

Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box by Madeleine AlbrightPart illustrated memoir, part social history, Read My Pins provides an intimate look at Albright's life through the brooches she wore. Her collection is both international and democratic—"dime-store pins share pride of place with designer creations and family heirlooms." Beautiful photographs of her pins and a brief but informative read on the reasons why she chose specific pins for each diplomatic meeting. R.I.P., Madam Secretary.
