Shop Local Scavenger Hunt

June 1 - June 30

During the month of June travel to different participating local businesses to find all the Yarmouth Town Libraries megaphones and return a completed sticker sheet for a prize! scavenger hunt sheets in the Children's Room at the South Yarmouth Library or at the circulation desk at the West Yarmouth Library. Completed scavenger hunt sheets must be returned to the library by June 30 to be redeemed for a prize.

Before John Glenn orbited the earth or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as "human computers" used pencils, slide rules and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets into space. Among these problem-solvers were a group of exceptionally talented African American women, some of the brightest minds of their generation.

As we update the Library's Strategic Plan for the next 5-6 years, Massachusetts Library System consultant Michelle Eberle will facilitate an open discussion, a sharing of ideas, and gather suggestions from the community to help us develop and prioritize our strategic initiatives for future library services. presentation, a separate session for youth 13-18 years old will be hosted. 

Library Planning Committee Seeks New Members

The Library Planning Committee (LPC) is looking for new members. The group is currently preparing for a Community Needs Assessment to find a path forward for library facilities and services. There will be community gatherings to share information as we learn and grow stronger together.
