From the Director:September already! Enjoy the holiday week-end coming up and the waning days of summer. It has been such a busy summer at both the South and West Yarmouth Libraries, including some interesting educational and fun programs for children, teens and adults. We completed our ARIS report for the State, and see that our number of library visitors has increased from last year. People are taking out more audio books and videos – and our number of registered borrowers remains steady. September is national Library Card Month. Come on in and get yours today! It is the smartest card, they say. -Jane Cain Library Director .

Build a Better World Summer Reading Program summaryThis summer the Yarmouth Libraries attracted many children, tweens and teens by providing a wide range of programming, activities and events. We offered a total of 46 programs with over 900 people attending. There were 47 children registered for Build a Better World Summer Reading Program and the accumulated minutes they logged exceeded 25,000. Wild Care Cape Cod, our designated beneficiary, has received a donation of 100 units of Pedialyte, on behalf of the children who participated. There were 26 teens at West Yarmouth and 46 teens at South Yarmouth Library who participated in our Teen Summer Challenge scratch ticket prize giveaway. The Fuji instant camera grand prizes were presented to a teen winner at each Library. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our success.
