From the DirectorAs 2017 comes to a close, I reflect with thanks and gratitude for the community, for the library, our staff and volunteers, and life on Cape Cod.
The library remains strong in a time of information overload, challenging news events and an explosion of cultural options for everyone. It has to be because of the people who make it happen: from our conscientious Elder Services worker who sorts interlibrary loan deliveries almost every morning, to our friendly, hard-working and capable staff, driven to serve, or our Association members who support library programs and raise funds to keep on doing that, to our long-time neighbors who have volunteered here for years, including the Facilities Study Group who continues to explore the community and its library service needs – to our Town Library Board members who show they care for literacy and learning by helping the library to shine.
Our One-Book-One-Town Yarmouth Reads program was a great success this year – and a lot of fun. The 2018 program looks promising, too. On behalf of the Yarmouth Town Libraries, I sincerely thank everyone for another great year and invite you to come see us at the libraries! - Jane Cain Library Director

Family-to-Family Christmas Giving ProgramThe Yarmouth Town Libraries participate in the Family-to-Family Holiday Giving program sponsored by the Cape Cod Division of the Department of Children and Families. The program helps families in need and children in foster care. A small Christmas tree is located at each library decorated with "ornaments" with a child’s name, age and wish list on the back. Gifts should be wrapped and brought to the libraries, along with the ornament, starting December 1.
We appreciate your participation in this Cape-wide community project. The deadline for giving is December 14.
