Good Stories, Well ReadSaturday, March 17, 2:30 p.m. West Yarmouth Library Join us to hear classic short stories read by Cape Cod actors. It is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Organized by Toby Wilson, each experience of Good Stories, Well Read is unique. No registration required, but come early to get a good seat by the fireplace at the West Yarmouth Library.

South Yarmouth Library Association Sunday Author Series: Barbara Eppich Struna, "The Old Cape Hollywood Secret"Sunday, March 18, 2:00 p.m. South Yarmouth Library International bestselling Cape Cod author and Brewster resident Barbara Eppich Struna will discuss her latest book of suspenseful historical fiction, "The Old Cape Hollywood Secret." The story begins in 1947. Maggie and her cousin, Gertie, travel from Cape Cod to Hollywood for fame and glamour. One returns home, the other disappears only to be found seventy years later by present day Cape Codder, Nancy Caldwell.
"The Old Cape Hollywood Secret" received an Honorable Mention at The Hollywood Book Festival 2017. The Sunday Author Series is popular – reservations are encouraged. Funded by the South Yarmouth Library Association.

Musical Discoveries Saturday, March 17, 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 10:30 a.m. South Yarmouth Library A musical experience for the whole family! For infants to 5-year-old children and their caregivers. Classes include singing, small and large motor movement, instruments and fun. Classes are FREE and are held in the Leonard Room. 2018 Cecelia Siemen Scholarship Open for ApplicationsThe South Yarmouth Library Association offers the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts annually. The $3,000 award advances the study and knowledge of someone in the visual arts. To be eligible, applicants must have completed one academic year at a college or art institute by the end of the school year in which the scholarship is offered.
Applications are available now at the South Yarmouth Library or from the website. See www.yarmouthlibraries.org for the link to download an application on the home page. Applications include the completed form, course work transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, a portfolio, and personal statement. Two Openings on the Town Library BoardThe Town Library Board has two openings. The Board supports the Library and advises the Yarmouth Board of Selectmen on Library issues and policies. If you are interested in getting involved in this advocacy group, stop by and meet the Director, Jane Cain, or call the Library at 508-760-4820. The Town of Yarmouth asks for a Talent Bank application available on the Town website. You can also find out when the next Board meeting is, and plan to attend.
