From the DirectorSo long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, au revoir, good bye, March! Happy to have turned the corner to April and maybe Spring. Now - to the garden and outdoor fun. Join us for the Yarmouth Reads wrap-up events: Saturday, April 7, at the South Yarmouth Library, Denya Levine and Eastern European music, movement and folklore and on Sunday, April 8, the Finale at the Lorusso Lodge at Flax Pond in South Yarmouth, featuring a buffet luncheon and Trivia with Patrick. There is a suggested donation of $5.00 to help defray the costs of the day for Sunday's luncheon and trivia challenge. Come to either the South Yarmouth Library or the West Yarmouth Library to reserve your ticket. We’ll see you there! -Jane Cain Library Director

Infant Massage5-part class on Wednesdays: April 4, 11, 18, 25 and May 2 10:30-11:30 a.m. South Yarmouth Library Classes will be facilitated by Melissa Cabral, Youth Services Assistant and Certified Educator of Infant Massage. This series is for families with babies 2-12 months old. SPACE IS LIMITED. To register, please call 508-760-4820 x 1316 or sign up on the Library Event Calendar at www.yarmouthlibraries.org. A copy of "Infant Massage: a Handbook for Loving Parents" by Vimala McClure and other resources will be provided to each participant at no charge. Sock Drive for Yarmouth ReadsAs part of our Yarmouth Reads 2018 we are coordinating a sock drive. Bring in a new pair of socks – any size – to either the South Yarmouth or West Yarmouth Library and a volunteer will distribute them as needed. Thank You!

2018 Cecelia Siemen Scholarship Open for ApplicationsDeadline: April 30The South Yarmouth Library Association offers the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts annually. The $3,000 award advances the study and knowledge of a student of the visual arts. To be eligible, applicants must have completed one academic year at a college or art institute by the end of the school year in which the scholarship is offered.
Applications are available now at the South Yarmouth Library or from the website. See www.yarmouthlibraries.org for the link to download an application on the home page. Applications include the completed form, course work transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, a portfolio, and a personal statement. Community Clean UpSaturday, April 14, 9:00 a.m. Yarmouth Town Hall Yarmouth’s Annual Community Clean Up Day - what better way to show how much we care about our town than by making Yarmouth look great! Meet at the Yarmouth Town Hall at 9 a.m. for route assignment. Wear comfortable footwear and clothing. Bring gloves if you have them. We will provide the supplies.
