From the Director:Almost everyone I know exclaims their disbelief in how “time flies,” and that it is already November…but, since we can’t control that, we can only be grateful for each day we have. Lately, I have tried to focus on the positive with mindful awareness of the world around us. I appreciate our libraries, this place we call home, and the change of seasons. Holiday Cookie Stroll TicketsOn sale starting Monday, November 19, 10 a.m. South Yarmouth Library Tickets for this year’s South Yarmouth Bass River Cookie Stroll go on sale Monday, November 19, at 10 a.m. This is the largest annual fundraiser for the South Yarmouth Library Association, and tickets do sell out. $20.00 per person. Hoopla Database Update: Now you can renew in Hoopla! When you have two or fewer days left in your content borrowing period—21 days for eBooks, audiobooks, and comics, 72 hours for movies and television, and 7 days for music—a button will appear on the title screen asking if you would like to renew the title.

The Hunt for Fantastic Beasts! Attention Magizooligists! 21 beasts will be hiding in the South Yarmouth Library starting on November 1 through November 15. Find a Beast card and turn it in at the front desk. In return, we will enter you for a chance to win movie tickets just in time to see FANTASTIC BEASTS 2: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD! All ages are welcome to participate! One entry per day, per person. We will notify the winner on Thursday, November 15.

Who-ville Express Tickets!Saturday, November 10, 10:00 a.m. South Yarmouth Library Reserve your FREE tickets at 10:00 a.m. when the South Yarmouth Library opens. Reservations will be on a first-come, first-served, in-person basis. Who-ville Express will be on Monday, December 3, 2018. Reserved seatings at 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Please Note: In order to share this experience with as many children as possible, adult ticket reservations are limited to 2 adults per child.

Family-to-Family Christmas Giving ProgramThe Yarmouth Town Libraries participate in the Family-to-Family Holiday Giving program sponsored by the Cape Cod Division of the Department of Children and Families. The program helps families in need and children in foster care. A small Christmas tree is located at each library decorated with "ornaments" with a child’s name, age and wish list on the back. Gifts should be wrapped and brought to the libraries, along with the ornament, starting December 1. We appreciate your participation in this Cape-wide community project. The deadline for giving is December 14.

Save the Date:Good Stories, Well Read: Holiday Stories Saturday, December 1, 2:00 p.m. West Yarmouth Library Join us as we bring you a whole new way to enjoy and appreciate stories. Listen to a selection of readings from some of the greatest stories in literature with a special Christmas edition of this popular program. Local actors will read selections from famous authors. Doors open at 1:30. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the West Yarmouth Library Association. This popular program is free to the public.

Special Town Election AnnouncementA Special Town Election will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Polls will be open from 12:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Avoid waiting in line on election day. Fill out an absentee ballot application and let the Town Clerk’s office mail a ballot to you! Absentee ballot applications are available either online (http://www.yarmouth.ma.us/577/Elections), at the Yarmouth Senior Center, and Yarmouth’s Libraries.
