2019 Cecelia Siemen Scholarship Open for ApplicationsThe South Yarmouth Library Association offers the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts. The $3,000 award advances the study and knowledge of someone in the visual arts. To be eligible, applicants must have completed one academic year at a college or art institute by the end of the school year in which the scholarship is offered.
Applications are available now at the South Yarmouth Library or from the Library website. Applications include the completed form, course work transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, a portfolio, and personal statement. See http://yarmouth.ma.us/1266/Cecelia-Siemen-Scholarship for the link to download an application. Applications to the South Yarmouth Library Association are due April 30.

Yarmouth Reads 2019: Juvenile Justice – Then and Now By Anastatia Ellis, EsquireSunday, April 7, 2:00 p.m South Yarmouth Library Learn about the juvenile justice system in Massachusetts – its history and its issues – with Yarmouth resident, attorney Anastatia Quirk. Gain some insight and get your questions answered about just what is right and wrong with the system. Sign up online or at the Library. Tickets for the Finale will be available, as will printed programs of the series of Yarmouth Reads 2019 events. Light refreshments will be served. Bring a donation of a new or like-new book (for ages 4-15) for Kaitlynn’s Closet.
