July on Cape Cod – it is wonderful! Town Offices (including the Library Division) will be closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, for the Independence Day holiday. The Libraries will be open on Saturday, July 6. No overdue fines will accrue on the 4th or the 5th.

Summer Reading Program
Kick-off Event 
at West Yarmouth Library

Monday, July 1, 2:00 p.m.
West Yarmouth Library

A rousing, energetic, interactive concert with fiddling, a sing-along, and a rhythm band. You’ll hear familiar songs and new songs, too. This is spirited fun that will knock your socks off! Outdoor games, face painting, watermelon and fun for all ages. This event is co-sponsored by the South Yarmouth Library and West Yarmouth Library Associations. Many thanks to Ryan Gillis of Bayside Tents for providing the tent! For all ages; children under 8 need to bring an adult.


NEW! Saturday Stories

Saturday, July 6, 10:30 a.m.
South Yarmouth Library

This new series will highlight stories from around the world, on the first Saturday of the month. Next one is Saturday, August 3. Help us spread the word! For all ages; children under 8 need to bring an adult.


Summer Musical Discoveries 

Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m., July and August 
South Yarmouth Library
A musical experience for the whole family! For infants to 5-year-old children and their caregivers. Singing, small and large motor movement, instruments and fun! Classes are FREE. Our thanks to the South Yarmouth Library Association for funding this popular family program.

The Village Crafters Fair
and Book Sale at the
West Yarmouth Library

Thursday, July 11, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Every summer, the Village Crafters set up their canopies and offer up locally made arts and crafts on the lawn at the West Yarmouth Library. And on that day, the West Yarmouth Library Association sets up a book sale, and prepares hot dog lunches in front of the building -- all at a reasonable price. Stop by and get your Christmas shopping started!  See you at the Library.


Outdoor Story Time

Thursdays, July 11 - August 29, 10:30 a.m.

On the lawn, weather permitting, or in the Leonard Room if bad weather. Stories, games, hoola hoops, bubbles and more! For all ages; children under 8 need to bring an adult.

The South Yarmouth Library’s Book Discussion Group meets monthly. In July we will discuss Blackbird House by Alice Hoffman. An evocative work that traces the lives of the various occupants of an old Cape Cod house over a span of two hundred years. Join us!    


Storywalk® Returns to

The more you read the better your chances! “A Universe of Stories” is sponsored by the Yarmouth Town Libraries, South Yarmouth and West Yarmouth Library Associations, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing
