Programs this week at the Yarmouth Town Libraries


West Yarmouth Library closed the week of October 21

West Yarmouth Library will be closed from Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, for new carpet installation, and will re-open on Monday, October 28, at 11:00 a.m. No fines for West Yarmouth items will accrue. Inter-library loan items will be suspended for the week. The South Yarmouth Library will be open the week of October 21, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and open during our regular hours on Friday through Sunday.


Playing on Purpose:
Integrated Parent-Child Sessions
5 week program

Starting Friday, October 18, 10:00-11:30 a.m.
South Yarmouth Library

Parent Workshop: Introduction session and interactive workshop for all caregivers. Join us to discuss strategies to make playtime more purposeful for you and your child. Some of the topics to be discussed:

  • Your child’s social and emotional development
  • How to strengthen your relationship with your child

Other P.O.P. sessions are October 25, November 1, November 8 and November 15.
It is recommended that you attend all five sessions. This program is made possible through a grant from The Peter & Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation and is supported by a grant from the Department of Early Education and Care. Facilitated by the Dennis-Yarmouth Collaborative Family Community Engagement (D-Y CFCE). For birth to 8 years old and their caregivers. Please register by calling Jody Almonte at 508-778-7988 X 4.

The South Yarmouth Library Association presents a return visit by Alison O’Leary, who will discuss her book on “great escapes” in New England. Just in time for leaf peeping!  Refreshments will be available. Reservations are encouraged for this popular series, funded by the South Yarmouth Library Association.
